Men’s Early League

Men’s Early League at Newport Country Club 

Men’s Early League consists of 12 – 2 man teams. We play every Monday with a tee off time between 12:30 and 1:00 using a mini shotgun format.

Team competition is formed by high handicap vs high handicap and low vs low. The season begins usually at the end of May, and finishes at the ends of August with an end of season Dinner and Awards.

Play consists of a team scramble where each couple tries to post a score that exceeds an assigned number based on their combined handicap. Total numbers are accumulated throughout the season and used to designate a winning team. Couples earn extra points by participating every week but play is always optional.

Participants each week will need to inform the pro shop BEFORE 5PM Tuesday evening if they intend to participate on Wednesday. Informing the pro shop early enables us to make all necessary arrangements assuring that our league night will go smoothly. Starting this year, a special non-member green fee of $10 and cart fee of $8 per person will be implemented.
